the process

With many types of Life Insurance (such as Term, Universal or Whole Life) it can often take several days – or even weeks – from the time between you complete the application until when you will finally be approved, and get your insurance policy.

Why? Because before an insurance company will agree to insure you, they will usually require that you first be checked out medically. This will usually include a process in which the company will review all of your health and medical records, from all of your doctors and health providers.

Additionally, they will often require you to have a brief examination by a health professional of their choosing, which is often a Registered Nurse they hire to meet with you in your home. That person will typically go over your health history with you, take your vital signs such as blood pressure, and sometimes may also have you provide a blood or urine sample.

With Final Expense Insurance however, you can often both shop for your policy AND get approved… usually within 20 to 30 minutes!

It’s a very simple process:

1.  Your insurance agent will take your personal information such as your name, address, age, etc., and then ask you a few preliminary health questions. They will then check with the different insurance companies they work with (if they are an independent agent – as I am) in order to find the ones that are the best fit for you, based upon your age, health and budget. Then they will present you with the results, and outline each of your options.

2.  You decide which insurance company, policy and price best suits you.

3.  Together, you and your agent can complete the application (often just a page or two) for your Burial Insurance policy.

4.  Once your application is completed, the agent will immediately submit it electronically to the insurance company. Depending upon the insurance company, the agent may contact them by telephone at which time the company will verbally confirm your information and application. Once that is done, you can simply provide your “voice signature” over the phone, and literally be approved for your policy right then and there.
